Color Mixing on Coffee Filters and Cotton Balls
Mixing Colors on Cotton Balls:
Ingredients:
Cotton Balls
Tray or Plate
Droppers
Cups or Similar
Water
Food Coloring
This super easy and fun activity will keep the kids entertained for a while...and is great for strengthening fin motor skills!
In class, we have large trays and glass eye droppers that we use. At home, you can use any type of tray or plate that can get wet - non-breakable is recommended for your sake.
If you don't have eye droppers...maybe you have old medicine droppers around that are clean? Or check with your local pharmacy!
Cotton balls are very affordable, so feel free to replace the ones they used after for more fun!

Numbers: 1-30 number game with shamrock numbers
(cut out shamrocks and write numbers on them, have your child put them in order, fill in the missing spots, etc)
Sight words "I see my ____."
You can just write the words on a paper, then have your child think of ways to end the sentence and "read" it to you.
Today's word family:
"it": sit, pit, fit, hit, bit
Write the letters on paper squares, put them together to sound out each word.
Review letter names/sounds
(We do this every day with a different twist in class so the kids don't forget them!)
science activities
Today we start on our new theme: Zany Zoos!
Our first animals to meet are fun monkeys:
We also have a lot of fun learning about elephants, too!
You can get some of your own fun animal toys for creative play here:
story, finger play, music & movement
STORY: "Little Nelly's Big Book"
Music: "Silly Dance Contest" by Jim Gill
This is one of our most favorite music and movement songs. Have fun, get your wiggles out, and be silly!
Finger Play: "Pretty Butterfly"
Nursery Rhyme: Three Blind Mice
The MOST important part of teaching preschoolers is...
KEEP IT FUN!
Be sure to try to get your kids outside each day as much as possible, too!
Stomp in some puddles.
Find some worms.
Watch the clouds.
Go for a walk.
Look for animals.
Search for acorns, leaves, & pinecones.
FRESH AIR AND SUNSHINE ARE GOOD FOR THE SOUL!
And movement helps children develop and grow.
