Make Your Own Kinetic Sand
This type of sand is super fun since it is more moldable than regular sand!
This kinetic sand recipe uses just 3 ingredients to make a soft, moldable sand that provides hours of sensory play time. Feel free to substitute flour if you don't have cornstarch. We used canola oil but you can also use olive oil, mineral oil, or baby oil. You will need to add food coloring if you are not starting with colored sand.
Kinetic Sand Recipe
1 cup of play sand
1/2 tbsp corn starch
1 tsp dish soap
1 cup of water (added as needed)
*Optional: add food coloring or use colored play sand
Method
Begin by combining the play sand and corn starch in a large bin or container.
Mix well.
In a separate container combine 1 cup of water with 1 tsp of dish soap, and stir until the water is bubbly.
Then, slowly add the water-mixture to the sand/cornstarch and mix well.

Numbers: 1-30 number game with shamrock numbers
(cut out shamrocks and write numbers on them, have your child put them in order, fill in the missing spots, etc)
Sight words "I like to ____."
You can just write the words on a paper, then have your child think of ways to end the sentence and "read" it to you.
Today's word family:
"ig": fig, jig, pig, wig, big
At home, you can easily write the letters on paper squares (feel free to use your child's favorite color!), put them together to sound out each word.
Review letter names/sounds
(We do this every day with a different twist in class so the kids don't forget them!)

Here are some art supplies if you need resources:
story, finger play, music & movement
STORY: "The View at the Zoo"
Music: "Silly Dance Contest" by Jim Gill
This is one of our most favorite music and movement songs. Have fun, get your wiggles out, and be silly!
Finger Play: "Pretty Butterfly"
Nursery Rhyme: Three Blind Mice
The MOST important part of teaching preschoolers is...
KEEP IT FUN!
Be sure to try to get your kids outside each day as much as possible, too!
Stomp in some puddles.
Find some worms.
Watch the clouds.
Go for a walk.
Look for animals.
Search for acorns, leaves, & pinecones.
FRESH AIR AND SUNSHINE ARE GOOD FOR THE SOUL!
And movement helps children develop and grow.
